• Dark green clover like plant (The Balkans)

This is a dark green clover like weed, but it grows low to the ground unlike true clover.

  • Are these grapes?

I have not eaten any, for obvious safety reasons, but I saw these on one of my strolls and am curious as to what they are.

  • Pre-vacation harvest!

I'm about to go on a roadtrip for 10 days and decided to harvest a bunch to take with me for some of our meals! I just bought my first house this year and this is my very first garden ever. This season has been such a great learning experience and I'm so happy with the yields I've been getting so far! But my cucumbers are definitely outpacing me as you can see .

I'm in zone 8a NC if anyone was wondering!

    Harvested:
    - Blackberries
    - exactly 2 blueberries (first of the season!)
    - Super 100 cherry tomatoes
    - Kentucky Wonder Green beans
    - Pepperoncini peppers
    - Sooo many Cucumbers of a few varieties (including white cucumbers which has quickly become my favorite variety)
    - a few heads of Little Gem lettuce that miraculously hadn't bolted yet (not pictured)

  • Backyard Blank Slate

Looking for ideas with what to do with my backyard. What type of deck would look good here and how can I make this space look nice (there is a house built on the right now and no snow)

  • Check out this crazy looking flower!

So my peperomia frost plant has been shooting out flowers like crazy lately. Then this strange looking one showed up a few days ago! I decided to nickname my plant Medusa, because I think all the flowers look like snakes

  • What should I plan here?

Looking for some ideas for a small shrub or two to plant between these two new vines I planted. I’m in the north east in zone 4. I prefer native, at least definitely not invasive. And special consideration for either evergreen or something that will provide winter berries for birds.

I’m thinking something sort of small under 3 feet and getting to mismatched shrubs to go there. On either side of the porch, I planted several different shrubs of varying Heights in green and burgundy – – conifers, dark, purple hydrangeas, piers japonica. So I would like things that will complement that.

    Would love people thoughts.

  • Looking for advice on landscaping for the first time

Hi everyone! We moved into our home about 4 years ago and are finally in a place to start landscaping. I'm brand new to this and have never done any projects before. I'm hoping to try and get this done for around $1,000. The plan is to dig out the existing gravel, till the soil, and plant some shrubs. I'm thinking emerald green arborvitaes, panicle hydrangeas, and loropetalum. Looking for some advice on the best time of year to do this so the plants don't die. I live in Southern Illinois, which is in zone 7 according to the USDA map. I'm also planning to put down a weed barrier, edge it with plastic, and cover the whole thing with pea gravel. Nothing fancy but a definite improvement on the current state of affairs. Is there anything else I should know?
