Help with converting fountain to Sarracenia planter
I want to convert this cement pond/fountain into a giant planter for tons of pitcher plants. Iāve grown them before so Iām comfortable with their care.
It is about 6-7ā deep and like 5ā across. It has two small holes, drainage and pump electrical/water supply (no water or electrical currently hooked up).
My idea right now is to remove the old non-working hardware and seal the holes. Then layer large-ish (2-3ā) rocks on the bottom, landscape fabric/felt, then pitcher plant soil mixture. Iāll have a pvc pipe in the middle that I can bottom water through, and a couple overflow pipes for when it rains.
Does that sound like a good plan? Any tips or advice?
Iāve never grown carnivorous plants outside of individual pots. Any other plants that would be good to add to the planter?
