• How do I harvest this?

This was called something like mesclun mix for the seeds. It seems ready, but I don't know if I pull it or cut it or what.

  • Cucumber frustration

This is my first time growing cucumbers and for weeks I have been getting ALL male flowers. But I saw this yesterday morning and it's this what I think it is? Or am I just getting my hopes up?

  • My hydrangea is a beauty

I saw someone else’s post about their hydrangeas being different colors on plants right next to each other and I thought I’d share mine. I have no idea what kind of hydrangea she is, so if anyone has that information I’d appreciate it. My family member gave it to me as they were out of room and theirs are not performing like she is.

This is one plant and I have almost an ombré like coloring going on with my flowers. The dark purple looks more blue in person. I didn’t do anything special except leave it alone for the last three years. This is the first year it really bloomed. She’s a happy little toaster and I hope she stays that way.

  • Flowers dropping on my beefsteak

I’ve already got tomatoes growing on my parks whopper, and the weather has stayed around mid to high 80s consistently. She’s growing taller faster than my other varieties, when will she start producing fruit?

  • Wanting to confirm this is TOH

I’m like 95% sure this is TOH, but the other 5% is hoping this is sumac?

On a property in central Ohio. I read about the smell being a giveaway, but I don’t have access to it right now.

  • Green bean babies

One of my green bean babies got hit with some hard wind over the last week. Will I have to pull it or will it pull through??? I’m getting ready to transplant into bigger tubs but I don’t want to shock the little guy too much if I can avoid doing so

  • Having trouble figuring out what this weed is. QuackGrass maybe?

In Minneapolis MN, I know it’s got to be super common. Wondering if I should tear up all the yard in this area, or if a weed killer will do the trick.

  • Perimeter of deck

A relative recently built us a nice deck. There’s about a 1 foot perimeter around the whole deck (20x10) that is just crushed stone and I don’t know what to do with it. I’ve never landscaped anything in my life. Plant sod to the edge? Put up some planter boxes or shrubs? Decorative rocks? If I do sod, can I put it over top of the crushed stone or does that need to go?
    Thanks in advance!

  • A river runs through it :(

I picked the worst time to put in a retaining wall to terrace my steep front yard. We have had 3 weeks of rain every day -- usually as severe thunderstorms -- unusual for my area but not unheard of. The ground is completely saturated and I am losing backfill soil. I put in rain mitigation when I built the wall.

    * In front of the retaining wall there is a 4 inch perforated french drain imbedded in 8 inches of gravel with geofabric above.
    * There is a surface drain at the top (below the blue tarp there is a whirlpool).
    * In addition there are four 2 inch drain pipes spaced across the wall.

The french drain is working in that the water is shooting out of the endpoint like a fire hose. The 2 inch drainpipes in the wall are working also, they're just overwhelmed. I'm wondering how to handle this. Should I build a gully to my driveway to manage this immense amount of water. One of my neighbors suggested building a rain garden for water capture. I'm not sure how to manage this. I can't do anything about the source of the water since it comes from up a hill. I'm open to ideas.
