  • Milkweed shortage

I have about 12+ monarch caterpillars on a single milkweed plant that’s no more than 3 feet tall. They’ve eaten just about 80% of the plant, and most if not all of the tender leaves. They’re probably going to run out of food by the end of the day.

My parent’s home has a lot of tropical milkweed that got blown over from a neighbor. I should be able to I pull and bring home (they don’t want the plants to begin with), but I worry about possible parasites. That said, I would imagine having food is better than dying of starvation. Most of the monarch caterpillars look to be between 3 and 4 instar, so they still have some growing to do. The picture I posted is from yesterday, when most of the leaves were still on the plant.

    Thoughts?

  • Random plant in my flower pot

So this pot has been empty for about eight months, and occasionally I discard random things like flower bulbs, leaves, etc in it. This started to pop up a few weeks ago and I decided to let it grow, what is it?

  • My biggest and smallest air plants

Thought it would be fun to do a mini photo shoot with some of my air plants after watering them (they were watered yesterday, dried upside down overnight, and now I’m putting them back in their spots). I love how massive the xerographica is next to the neglecta seedling :)

  • Backyard Design

My initial thoughts are to get rid of the fence and bushes to flatten/open the area. Maybe pavers or something to the right of the sunroom that could connect for a grilling zone? Also not a huge fan of the firepit location where it is now. Anything helps to get my brain thinking

  • Help. Is it fungal?

At first I thought it was a burn area, but over 3 weeks it’s getting bigger. Is it fungal? If so what should I do? Area is in sun until about noon then in full shade between 2 houses rest of the day. Missouri

  • Please save my Banana Boy!

I purchased this Japanese banana plant last week and he was majestic as hell! He even has a little sapling growing.

All I did was give him a cup of water so the soil is damp and left him in a well lit room but he's dying! His leave have gone droopy and discoloured.

I've now put him outside in the sun all day and it's not helping either.

What does he want from me?!

  • Is it a light issue or a water issue? Peace lily edition

I’ve had the one on the right about 4 years (it nearly died when I left on a vacation and stupidly left the a/c off.) The one on the left I’ve only had a couple months. I don’t know what I’m doing wrong. I keep the a/c on and they’re not getting blasted either afternoon sun, but maybe they need more?

I water them once a week.
