• Asiatic orange lilies crisping up??

Im aware that flowers dont last forever, but the lilies on the flower to the right are crisping up?? Im not sure if its the sun (i get a lot of sun in the afternoon and im in britain), but the flower on the left is leaning towards the window like it wants *more* sun.

Also, the unbloomed flower on the left plant feels kind of soggy?? Wrinkly?? Like something seems wrong. And the plant in the middle, it's flower most to the right has similarly crisped up like an autumn leaf

Does anyone know why this is happenign i water it approx once or twice a week

  • What would you plant in this little guy?

My wife found this little tin and glass lantern and wants a small terrarium in it for her work desk! I'm thinking some moss but any recommendations would be great! It's about three inches wide

  • Help identifying a seed pod I found in western Madagascar

    Hi all! 👋🏼

I recently returned from a trip to Madagascar and found a curious seed pod that I can’t seem to identify. I’ve searched through various resources (including databases and guides on Madagascan flora), but nothing quite matches.

Here’s what I can tell you about it:
    • Found in western Madagascar, near dry deciduous forest habitat.
    • The full structure is about 7 cm long and 2.5 cm wide.
    • It’s rectangular and flat, with thin, papery “wings” and a central rounded pod – likely where the actual seed is housed.
    • It reminds me of a samara (like those from maple trees), but the shape is quite different – much more elongated and rectangular.

I’ve attached a photo for reference. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Even a genus or family would be a great start. Thanks in advance

  • Help with flower bed tips/advice/ideas!

I’m looking for any advice for a beginner planning a DIY project for a flower bed in this area (back to the orange line stopping right at the retention wall). A few details:

I live in zone 9a, south Texas

    It’s about 18ft x 7ft

I live on a hill so the neighbor’s lawn to the right is an incline

I wanted to plant a few native flowering shrubs

This area receives full sun for like 12 hours during these summer days.

I was planning to clean it all out, dig a few inches out, flatten it, do some weed control, put some type of edging around it, maybe new soil with some mulch on top with a few native shrubs spaced apart to account for growth. I wanted to do some rocks instead of mulch but research kinda deterred me away from that.

Any thing else I should consider or do? I wasn’t sure if there was anything I should account for with the incline of my neighbors yard eroding or water run off into the bed. Also if any ideas or things I should consider with working around the utility equipment in that area.

Please! Any advice or ideas would be extremely helpful!!

  • Moss ID

Got this mystery moss that just started growing randomly in one of my prop boxes. Really short, soft, and fuzzy. Maybe a long shot but anybody got a guess for an ID or close to it?

  • Will my dracaena marginata grow more leaves?

Started noticing browning leaves and that leaves were staying vertical in the center. Suspected root rot and found some brown, squishy roots but root mass was mostly ok. Trimmed rotted roots & quick dunk in hydrogen peroxide solution before repotting into a chunkier mix. Pruned the tall branch because all its (vertical) leaves just fell off during the repotting.

It’s sits under a grow light receiving around 300 foot candles. Can and when should I expect new leaves from the pruned branch? The old leaves are still staying vertical - anything else I can do/check?

Am now water when soil is dry to the bottom & pot has drainage.

  • Mom & 3 babies are destroying my potted plants

What are my options? I read that relocating them isn’t always the best. I’m in northeast Ohio and there are a ton of businesses that could do it but I’m wary. I love animals and love that I can provide a safe home for them but good gravy they’ve destroyed half my garden. Will they move on later in the summer? Should I set up deterrents to make them leave? Give me your best groundhog hacks!
