Help identifying a seed pod I found in western Madagascar

Hi all! 👋🏼

I recently returned from a trip to Madagascar and found a curious seed pod that I can’t seem to identify. I’ve searched through various resources (including databases and guides on Madagascan flora), but nothing quite matches.

Here’s what I can tell you about it:
• Found in western Madagascar, near dry deciduous forest habitat.
• The full structure is about 7 cm long and 2.5 cm wide.
• It’s rectangular and flat, with thin, papery “wings” and a central rounded pod – likely where the actual seed is housed.
• It reminds me of a samara (like those from maple trees), but the shape is quite different – much more elongated and rectangular.

I’ve attached a photo for reference. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Even a genus or family would be a great start. Thanks in advance
