  • Looking for Ideas

First time homeowner and clueless about landscaping. We just cleaned up the corners and the right side of the backyard that were overran with bushes and shrubs and want to start planning now to get ready to plant in the fall. Would appreciate any suggestions, were in zone 7b.

  • Soil/weed removL prep before laying sod advice

    Hi all,
Recently moved in to a new construction home and now ready to tackle this graded soil and lay some sod.
I have removed most of the "bigger" weeds and currently have this to work with. Should I just rake them or would i need to pull these so they dont grow over the sod? Also i was advised by the builders that I require to lay about 4inches of soil on top prior to sod. Any other prep I should do prior to dumping the soil and laying the sod?
Also side question: I am planning on laying the sod this weekend and it will be around 27 degrees C here in Winnipeg, Canada. Any advice on laying sod in this type of heat? I was told to water ++++. Appreciate all the feedback!

  • Water building up at front steps

Whenever we have rain or snow melts, the water tends to build up, which has caused the stone path to start sinking. Would the best course of action be to extend the downspout underground and away from the house / stone path?

    Would something like [this](https://www.amazon.ca/LFUTARI-Downspout-Extensions-Flexible-No-Extension/dp/B0B6FJWQH1/ref=asc_df_B0B6FJWQH1?mcid=8acaed94cd423b3ab09ee47dc789603e&tag=googleshopc0c-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=706747204465&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=13178763819889181645&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9189354&hvtargid=pla-2200254359195&psc=1&hvocijid=13178763819889181645-B0B6FJWQH1-&hvexpln=0&gad_source=1) work?

Apologies for the photo, trying to make due at work. Thanks in advance.

  • Elderly moon cactus with her walking stick

I recently researched what kind of cactus this was, after having it for almost 5 years and found out that moon cactus typically don't live past a few years. This old gal beat the odds and is still kicking with a whole new generation growing on her back! She needs her stick to keep her propped up.

  • Transplanted mint into a bigger planter I decorated for my GF!

My gf loves peppermint tea, so I got her these two plants from my local farm stand that I can harvest from and dry out. The planter box label I painted myself I'm hoping these little guys really make use of all the space!

  • Help! Where should I start?

Hi! My front yard is very very sad.
I’m in Orlando, FL. My front yard has a lot of issues. I just bought the house, and I really wanted to do my own lawn.
I can’t tell what the grass is really. I know there are some st. Augustine at the back, but mainly maybe zoysia?
There are weeds everywhere. Should I do the herbicide first? Or should I water them really good so the grass comes out first?
