  • Help with Tree layout.

I have about the number and layout of trees I’m working on planting in my backyard.
I would like to plant a row of 4 bowhall maples along the back of my property with two Princeton sentry ginkos along the edges but a bit closer to my house. I attached a very crude rendering for my plan.
The alternative version is very similar but it switches the maples and the ginkos in the east and west sides so you’d have a ginko, two maples and a ginko on the back of the lot and two maples up closer where the ginkos are in the pic.
The neighborhood I live in doesn’t have a lot of large trees close by and I’d like to remedy that. I also have 2 story houses in every direction behind me (mine is a small single story) and would like a bit more privacy, even if it takes 20 years to grow it. I’m in it for the long haul. I was hoping to get some advice on this plan and the number of trees. Are there any major flaws with my idea? I’d appreciate any words of wisdom anyone might have to offer. I’ll also take scorn as long as I can learn from it.

  • Google is saying a bunch of different things for this plant so I need some help, please.

So according to google, this could be stinging nettle, three different versions of mint, anise hyssop, leopards bane, and something else.

I don’t think it’s stinging nettle cause I was willing to make that sacrifice and touched it. Nothing happened.

I want to stress I DID NOT put this in my mouth at anytime. It doesn’t smell of mint and that’s as far as I know of what this probably isn’t.

I’ve got a ton of this in my front flower beds thanks to the previous owners and I’d like to know what it is so I can determine if it’s a keeper or not. Thank you for any help you can offer.

  • please help my peace lily

my grandmother gave it to me and she’s in poor health, i desperately don’t want it to die. i’m very new to having plants and get all my info from online and use the PlantIn app, but it’s not always helpful or specific. i’ve tried what few answers i have found and nothing is working. i’ve had it since mother’s day this year and know my grandma bought it a few weeks before that. it’s in a 10in glass pot with drainage in front of my west facing inside patio door all day every day, not sure the exact amount of hours in the light (sunrise is around 6:15am, sunset at 8:30pm). i have practically no areas with full sun, but this is one of the best part sun locations in my home. it’s given 6oz of water every 4 days with the right (according to the box) mixture of Miracle Gro Bloom Booster Flower Food and misted every two days. it was okay for a week or two then very rapidly began drooping, wilting then browning with the flowers and older leaves going first. i repotted a little over a week ago as it was root bound. also deadheaded and pruned, but it seems like every day there’s a new brown leaf. what am i doing wrong ? keep in mind i’ve only just began with my plant journey in the past few months and this is my first and only lily.

  • How can I keep these little babies?

Not much of a gardener here. I think these are little succulent volunteers in a 3 or 4 inch pot. Can I just scoop them out into new pots with gritty soil? Are they too small to move without damaging?

  • My String of Hearts Self-Pollinated

I didn't know that they could do that. It'll be interesting to see if the seeds are viable.

  • First dwarf sunflower bloom of the season

Grown in 3 gallon fabric pots with bottom watering reservoirs. Used a mix of Fox Farms Happy Frog, Cultivation Nation, dolomite lime and earthworm castings. Planted microclover, sweet alyssum, and marigolds as cover crops in the same container. Just started showing some nutrient deficiencies into flower, will be adding a generic MiracleGro liquid plant food to the reservoir moving forward.

This one’s going to be a beauty - the seeds were from a single flowering plant I grew last year, so I’m surprised to see so many flower heads. Once it’s in full bloom, she’ll be a tower of gold!

  • Why hasn't my new monstera leaf point down?

My monstera plant is putting out its first leaf with fenestrations, (WOOO), but for some reason, it seems the leaf/stem isn't growing anymore? For the past 2-3 days, it has been pointing straight up, and if you look at time lapses online, usually when the stem is exposed like that, the leaf would have already been pointed down

It receives a bunch of bright indirect light throughout the day and I water whenever the soil is dry. (So usually every 1-2 weeks)

Any and all help is greatly appreciated!!

  • Why are these worms just drying out on top of the grass? I just noticed this today. Rained last night but that’s not the first time it’s rained recently. Recently leveled my yard. Can they not get back through the sand?
