  • 50/50 compost and topsoil mix

Hello. I’m setting up my raised beds. I ordered a 50/50 topsoil and compost mix. I filled one bed yesterday, and came back with the top layer crumbling ( the same as the photo above). However, the soil underneath it is moist but still has some moist chunks I need to break apart. Did I get duped with the soil I ordered? lol How do I fix my soil to make it more fluffy and more workable? I’m planning to till the soil,I added some perlite and maybe add more compost on top, plant some cover crop and then mulch. Anything underneath that soil is very dark and moist, so I’m thinking it does have a lot of organic matter. But any advice would help. 1st year of gardening.

  • Would splitting this Salvia prevent it from flopping over like this?

I’m new to gardening and am learning so much! These are obviously huge, and I don’t want them to flop over like this. How do I care for them and prevent them from flopping over?

  • Can anyone ID this aquatic plant freebie?

So I basically bought some Bacopa M.'s and some Hydrillas, but the seller was kind enough to give me a freebie.

I'm not an expert at the hobby to be able to identify some unlabelled aquatic plants and was just wondering what aquatic plant this is?

The last saplings of aquatic plants I ordered months ago went through a permanent plant melt (never grew) when I planted them on my Jarrarium so any acclimation tips would be also appreciated!

  • Junky grass, in my grass

Midwest US, what’s this junky grass in my TTF/KBG? And how do I kill it? Pulling it isn’t much of an option, it’s all over the place.

  • Worth saving?

It's pretty, but pretty much every leaf is shredded up.

I don't think I can prune the bad leaves, because they're all damaged lol.

Should I wait and see if I find a healthy one somewhere else? Is it a pretty common variety?

Water / light not applicable, this is at my store
