  • Too close?

In trying to maximize edibles I’m wondering if things are too close. I have three peach trees that I prune to keep at a manageable size. About 4 feet away I have a garden bed. The first few years with this set up things all grew well but now tomatoes not thriving in the same way.

Wondering if peaches could be competing with tomatoes. And if so what can I do to mitigate this. Root pruning?

This is some lush irrigated tall Fescue. Cut at 4” every week.

  • How to stop that drain setup from flooding

This asphalt driveway is at a back corner of my house. Unseen at the left of the image are stairs that go down to a door to my basement.

The drain at the center of the image deals with a lot of rain from my driveway, since there's a kind of large asphalt funnel around it. It's connected to my foundation drain, and I've heard from many people that it's an horrible idea.

It also sometimes clog from leaves and various tree debris that fall during storms, which then start flooding the funnel, which then goes down the stairs and flood there, which then cause some water to slowly trickle true the door seals, which is a problem.

So yeah, what should I do with this? We have a sizeable amount of money we're willing to throw at this. At the right of the photo, I have a large driveway going to my garage that I'm willing to both replace with a different, more permeable surface. I don't go with my car there, but I do use a bike on it, so would something like flagstone on top of gravel be an option?

Also, I've heard I might be able to redo the sloping of that driveway and make a dry well there to drain water, is this a possibility? If it is, could I also send a gutter outlet there? Again, I'm willing to spend a sizeable amount of money on this.

    What do you think?

  • 30yr old Struggling shefflera

This plant is almost 30 years old, it’s been in and out of traumatizing situations, but has had some great rebounds. It was doing well up until a few months ago, and it started shedding its leaves like crazy and started to look like the pictures. Any new growth turns brown and dries out and dies within a few days of showing up. I’ve been making sure the soil is staying hydrated though the growing season and the heat and just added some fertilizer a few weeks ago and it still continuing to drop leaves. I Would love some insight from the pros here in this thread.

It is getting watered once a week, and I fill it until it drains through and let it sit in the overflow pan for 15 to 20 minutes to saturate the soil before draining the pan. It has been getting south facing and indirect sunlight for 8 to 12 hours a day.

  • Croton, Can I plant?

Hello plant friends! This is my first run on rooting my croton as it was getting too leggy/tree like. Is it ready to be potted or should more roots take place?

  • My crassula baby necklace and friends

Just sharing some babies. I do my best to research, but I'm no expert, so I welcome advice.

I've let my crassula grow long and wild and free for many years. I am not sure if I'm supposed to prune, but I love her the way she is tbh. I hope she continues to grow long and healthy.

This lithops was at a "clearance or compost" section of a plant store.

My monkey tail just whips around ever so slowly and wildly through the day chasing the sun.
