• Can these be recovered?

I have a variety of succulents inside my bioactive vivarium and most are doing well. These are a bit on the hotter side, receing a bit of direct light/heat (like 15% direct) set to 88F. This spot is obviously not doing too well, could I move these to another spot away from the heat or to another pot until they recover?

Also are there any succulents that thrive on direct heat/light?

  • Zero Lot Line Yard

Needs some opinions on what to do to make my backyard as level as possible on a zero lot line yard. There is a decent incline between the two with a stucco house so the neighbors house has a weep screed making it difficult to work with. Is there a way where I could make it all the same level as the current patio without interfering with the neighbors house?

  • Flower volunteer in my garden

2.5' high and 18" in width. Don't know where it came from but may have originated from birdseed. I just know not something I planted.

  • How to manage weeds in a 2nd year wildflower conversion?

In the process of converting an area overgrown with weeds to a native wildflower garden.

This year just a small bed with mostly annuals. I germinated the wildflowers in flats from a mix and grew them into seedlings before planting them out, so it was easy to know which plants were wildflowers and which were weeds. Got about 8 species. They’re currently in the process of dropping seed and dying off until the next growing season.

But if I were to try to let them come back from seed next year, I’m worried about the weeds: there’s still a big, area nearby with weeds (i.e. a seed source).

Next season, if I try to let it come back from seed, I won’t be able to weed most things until they’re big enough for me to be sure what is/isn’t a wildflower. I don’t want to accidentally weed out the wildflowers. But I don’t want the weeds to outcompete the natives and take over either.

How do people manage wildflower gardens in year 2 (and beyond)? Should I even try to let it come back from seed? Or should I just repeat what was done the first year, until I can get a better handle on the rest of the weeds in the area, and there aren’t so many weed seeds in the seed bank?

  • Improve front landscaping

I just bought this house and want to improve the front landscaping. I want to keep the trees and rose bushes but fill in the other areas those areas are either bare (on the left side) or plants that don’t see to grow well in shade (the green grass to the left of the walkway entrance). I am in zone 7 planting.

Any advice would be great. Should I use rocks. Or what type of bushes/plants would works best in shade under those trees.

Just kinda cool, kinda interesting. If anyone knows why it happened I’m totally interested in knowing. (The purple flower has some hail damage)

  • Documenting progress photo.

This is the before, what I have currently. In the terracotta pots (that I know aren't aligned, one day I'll actually measure the strings, shush) I have trailing succulents and in my fish tank I have a monstera, pothos and philodenren that can use the cork wall to climb as well as several other plants. I'm hoping that I can successfully make this my own little overgrown jungle.

P.s. my goldfish were born without their tails, they're healthy as they can be.
