• What is the clumps of white and yellowish powder in mulch or under it?

We've had issues with inadequate yard maintenance which possibly helped the lawn partly die to fungus? We were told we had fungus in the yard and had it treated. We have lots of actual visible mushrooms/fungi after rain but also the flower/bushes bed was extended and so the white powder and like yellow grainy powder in mulch or under bushes is even worse. Also it's under trees which have been pruned so it's filtered sunlight. Like rings of this stuff develop around the boxwoods.

Is this something to treat or is it actually helping and just looks ugly?

And followup to that, is there a type of mulch that's less likely to be effected like this?

(don't ever hire a husband and wife starting a landscaping company, just in case it all goes bad later on.)

  • My neighbor's yard (Kentucky)

I probably should post this in r/mildlyinfuriating. This is the line between my yard and my neighbors. This is my third year in this house, which is the last house I'm going to buy, and I've been treating weeds and fertilizing for the last two seasons. My neighbor mows his yard about once a month. Even during growing season it's wildly high. *sigh*

    Sorry, just venting.

  • Why might this spot not grow clover?

Just got home from vacation so please excuse the lack of mowing, but we have this circular spot that never grows clovers, or really gets that tall for that matter. Curious as to why.

  • Why is the soil in my cumquat plant soggy when I water it?

The last 3x I’ve been watering my cumquat plant the soil has been soggy and like wet cement. It hasn’t been absorbing well and only stays in the top layers.
The plant is situated next to the window and it gets plenty of sunlight. I also water it about 1x a week, sometimes 2x. Does anyone know why the soil is like that?

  • 3 of 4 of my saplings have successfully transplanted and established.

2 pin oaks and 1 sycamore maple.

I’m about to have surgery and I wanted to get these planted and healing so we can heal and recover together. All of them have little baby growth.

All were scavenged from behind my place of work. The oaks had no issues. The sycamore maple was growing in less than ideal conditions and I think it’s grown accustomed to having extra oxygen. It looked like it was suffocating so I poked a bunch of air in to the soil and it’s turned around in under a week.

  • Three of these growing in my patio

    Hey all, new here!
A couple years ago three plants started growing through the river stone on my patio. They grow incredibly fast, and seem to be trees. I'm in the process of removing them from the root now rather than just cutting them down when they start growing. But I'm curious what they are?

  • Is this aloe plant beyond saving?

I had recently repotted and watered it. The pot didnt drain as well as I thought it would so I tried moving it from next to a window to directly outside hoping it'd dry out the soil.
