    Kale harvest ready?

My first year growing veggies, started these from seed so I’m excited they seem to be thriving!

Is my kale ready for a mini harvest? From what I’ve read here I should start with the outer / lower leaves and be sure to leave a decent amount in the center.

Not sure if harvesting some now will help more growth or if I should give it some more time to fill out. Thanks all!!

Advice wanted: Help me turn this play structure into a garden!

Hi r/gardening, this play structure was installed by the prior owners of my home. It's really nice, and my kids have enjoyed it for the past few years, but they'll outgrow it in the next year or two. I plan to give away the play structure and turn the area it's in into a garden.

The area is currently covered in a tarp-like plastic landscape fabric (I know, ew), with rubber pellets on top. So I'll need to pull all of that out. What's underneath, I am not sure. They clearly leveled the area, so it could be sand or dirt under there. Weeds do pop out of the landscape fabric from time to time, so I assume that whatever it is, it's not completely inhospitable, but even if it's soil, it'll probably need heavy amending to sustain a vegetable garden.

I'd love to hear from anyone who's done something similar before - is there anything I should be aware of before I start? Anything that's likely to be more difficult than I'm anticipating? Any thoughts about how best to rehab the soil?

    Thanks in advance!

Feeling very nervous about my lawn. Plz tell me it’s going to look great in a few weeks.

Scarified with a rake (not machine), mowed low, deweeded as best I can, filled low spots, overseeded, watered, raked in. I’m exhausted but fingers crossed it will look better soon. Or is it too far gone?

    Catmint spots

All over this catmint im seeing little light colored spots. It's in a bed of sandy topsoil that gets partial sun. I don't water it regularly. I dont see any obvious bugs living on the leaves or stems. There seem to be fewer spots on the newer leaves? Any thoughts?

Anybody know what plant this is?

This was given to us as a gift but we have no idea what kind of plant it is. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

I just bought this house and the last owner made a privacy hedge using bamboo. Can I remove this and replace it myself? Or will I need professional help?

I’d love to put something native to the PNW, but not sure how easy or expensive it will be to get rid of all this bamboo.
