    Lavender Plant

Leaves are curled up and crispy. It was thriving and then it was not.

Soil: just added perlite to the soil today, it was growing and thriving in generic potting soil before.

Light: it's under a grow light (hence the purple hue to it). We are looking to upgrade our grow light as our natural lighting is terrible.

Water: watering it when the soil is dry. We aren't sure how often you're supposed to water these things... We are treating the watering like a succulent and not watering it too often, waiting for the soil to dry, and adding rocks and stuff to the soil to help it drain to prevent root rot.

Pot: plastic from the dollar store. Pot claims its self watering but we are emptying the water catcher from water because we don't trust it. It has drainage holes on the bottom. We don't let it sit in it's water for too long. The holes are draining well.

Temperature: kept indoors at 15°-20° C. Thermostat says 15 but it's been reaching 20 recently. It's away from any drafts/baseboard heaters. We aren't putting it outside because we are 10 floors up in a balcony that has worse lighting than our crappy grow light. Might put it outside when it's bigger.

Food: I think we fertilized it once with generic fertilizer. We don't usually fertilize our plants.

If anyone has grown these things please guide us. We just replaced the soil so hopefully it's just that. Please tell us your watering schedule too. I'm not used to watering plants .

Crassula capitella. Is it too hot? Or root rot?

    Hello!

I thought this was going to be a decently easy succulent for my area, and I am fairly used to some of the related succulents to pagoda village, but what went wrong here?

Is it too much heat? The leaves seem much smaller and less plump than the original state. Soil is also very dry.

I also thought it might be root rot because of the base plant having all the brown areas, but it’s getting proper (neglect) watering at once per week. And soil quickly drains as well.

It also seems to be missing a few strands/growths from the previous photo. Hoping a neighborhood cat didn’t get curious.

Watering: once a week, full soak
Sunlight: full sun, no shade. 85°-95°F (a couple 100°+ days)
    Soil: 70/30 organic/inorganic

Thank you for any advice/help. I’m assuming this is slightly salvageable by trimming off the still living growths, but any advice is welcome.

    Passion fruit flower

Hey everyone! I’m trying to grow passion fruit indoors (zone 7b) and could use some advice. One of the flowers bloomed and then fell off after (I believe) being fertilized. Is that normal? What should I expect next, and how can I support the plant from here?

Any tips on getting the fruit to actually set and grow indoors would be amazing.

Best way to rework this narrow space?

This space gets no sun. It is where we store our garbage and recycling (clearly). I don’t need it to be nice or green, I just don’t want it to be a dirt hole. It is a drainage path from backyard to street, so I need to keep it porous but I keep thinking that rocks will make it harder to roll the garbage cans in and out.

Any ideas that someone can diy? I don’t mind the work, just takes me a minute to finish the jobs so I’d like to make sure I’m doing the right thing before digging in.

    South Texas, for geography.
