• New plant mom.. what are these?

Hello! I am a brand new plant mom with very little plant experience lol but I got a cactus to start out a few months ago. Her name is khaki and shes been popping out babies left and right for about a month...

first question, how do I replant the babies?

Second question, what are these little sprouts?? They had to have shown up within the past day or two bc they weren't there last I checked. Are they weeds?

I also just recently said screw it with a dollar store box of random annual/perennial flower seeds and dumped it in a pot that sits semi close to khaki. Those sprouts are around the same size as these. I didn't think any of the seeds made it to her pot but maybe its possible the wind blew some over? If so, will it kill Khaki if they grow in the same pot?

  • Did I grow red onions or shallots?

So I kind of threw my yellow, white and red onions together with my shallots as I’ve never really had success with any of them in years past. This year I had some success, but I don’t know if these are just smaller red onions or shallots?

  • 'Spent' soil for succulents?

    Hi there succy fam!

Has anyone used old, spent soil for planting succulents? I'm getting ready to repot this particular plant, which is NOT a succulent, because the soil is super old (3-4 years maybe), doesn't retain water hardly at all, and is very loose and dusty even when I water this guy every few days. I water this particular plant with a squeeze tube thingy so it gets watered slowly actually absorbing the water versus dumping a bunch of water at once and having it roll down the sides due to hydrophobia. I'd love to save some $$ on succulent mixes by using this on future succulent plantains, mixed with a little bit of grit and adding a scant amount of regular succ soil. I don't want to take a chance if anyone has tried this and had problems. Any insights are deeply appreciated!

  • My first sunflower

I’d never grown sunflowers from seeds before. I’m surprised at the height it got in a raised garden bed. So pretty.
