  • Is the elongated plant on the right not an aloe vera but aloe nobillis? The one on the left is an aloe nobillis but I think maybe the plant I assumed to be a regular aloe vera might not be an aloe vera after all.

  • Sick succulent 2

Can someone tell me what I have done to this plant? It is on my porch on a table, so get at least 7 to 8 hours of partial sun every day. I have been watering the plant twice a week because of the heat and the leaves on the bottom are drying out, but the ones on the end are still OK.

  • Sedum growing tall and tipping over

What does one do about this, if anything? Does it need to be pruned down (dont really want to, not interested in propagating).

Here’s a fun one. Been growing this for years. Next year it’ll go into a pot. But just wanted to document my process.

  • Help identifying type and proper care for plant

Hoping for help with identifying what plant this is -- my aunt gifted it to me almost two years ago and we don't know what it is lol

I live in NYC, facing east, with big windows that get bright direct sunlight essentially all day.

Within the past month, that second newer leaf sprung up which I was surprised at. I spritz it with water every other day give or take and water the top once a week. The pot is kind of crummy too, thinking about repotting? It has a dish on the bottom that can be watered (to water from the roots up) but it's connected to the pot itself and can't hold very much water.

Mostly, I've noticed that the tips are frequently browning which is concerning. Including on the newer leaf which literally just cropped up.

My suspicion is that I'm overwatering but I think since this new leaf popped up while I've been doing frequent watering, I was concerned about stopping that.

Really appreciate the help! I have no green thumb and I'm trying my best but I've killed a few plants already and could use some pointers :)

  • I’m a proud new plant mom

My coworker when I left my job surprised me with this beautiful purple philodendron as a parting gift. It’s finally decided to sprout a root and bless me with two new leaves!

  • Root over rock compatibility?

I was thinking about root over rocking this quince with this limestone rock. But in my research I’ve learned that quince likes slightly acidic soil, and limestone is basic. So my question is, will quince roots absorb too much alkalinity from the limestone? Will it detriment the long term health of the tree? Is this something that people consider when creating root over rocks? How do you guys choose rocks for your projects?
