  • Need help choosing first fertilizer

Hey everyone, it’s been two months since I put down Bermuda sod everywhere at my house. I took a soil test last week and the results will be included. Based on my results what fertilizer would you recommend? TIA

  • N. Maxima Wavy Leaf turning yellow, Help!

I purchased a Maxima Wavy Leaf from a carnivorous vendor at a plant show back in May.

It seemed to be doing well until a few weeks ago when the leaves started to yellow. I can't think of anything that's changed in my habits other than I did start misting them once or twice a week recently, there is decent airflow in the room from a ceiling fan that stays on constantly. I water with DI, and keep the sphagnum moss potting mixture moist. The window it is in does not get much sun, most of the light it gets is from LEDs, you can see the Cattleya orchid stalk in the background getting some purple from a little too much light. Daytime temps are mid to high 70's with humidity 60%-70%, at night the temp drops a little and the humidity rises a bit.

I don't have much experience with Nepenthes other than getting two nameless varieties from a local greenhouse last year that have done really well. The vendor I purchased the plant from said that everything he brought to the show to sell would do well for home growers and didn't need any special treatment like some highland species do.

Thanks in advance for any advice you might have!

  • Be Still My Beating Heart: Hath the Fence Giveth Muscadine Grapes!?

    TLDR; Are These Muscadine Grapes?

I live in Central Florida, Zone 9a, and the forest that was once behind my house was torn down and replaced with a cardboard and bubblegum development, (something we avidly attempted to stop, to no avail).

Since then, the space between my decrepit fence and the new one behind me has blessed me with blackberries and Virgina Creeper. Welp, as I was staring at my Virgina Creeper, I noticed a ton of different leaves. My plant identifier app claims for these to be muscadine grapes. Please tell me it is so!?

  • Why did the stem on my Zinnia grow like this?

I will just preface by saying this plant has had a hard life in my care. .

I got it as a gift from my mom as a seedling. It was grown using one of this mini greenhouses with the mesh dirt balls. Once I got it it did take me awhile to get it in the ground (it was in a red solo cup on my screened porch). I believe that’s when it started growing goofy. There were definitely a couple times it did get dry during that time. Finally I transplanted it outside into sun a couple weeks ago. We’ve been getting a decent amount of rain so I only give it a splash with the hose once in awhile. I poked holes in the bottom of the pot about a week after it was transplanted (didnt realize it didnt have them already). As you can see, the stem is growing normal at the bottom now and healed the “split”.

What specifically causes this? I’m more intrigued than anything tbh.
