• A sea of pink in my front yard!

The common milkweed is in bloom in my front yard, and the smell is positively delightful.

  • Brought veggies to share with my coworkers today.. really really hope no one asks me about my garden.

Just kidding. It’s all I want to talk about!

I don’t like most of what I’m growing in the garden, so sharing with friends and family has been the best part!

  • Is my new eastern redbud tree salvageable?

Hi all. I got an eastern redbud tree last year and planted it in the wrong spot with not enough sun and it didn’t do well at all. But it was still alive. Somebody that helped me with my gardening transplanted it a couple weeks ago.

When I went to look at it today, it seemed to me that most of the upper small branches were dead – – when I scratch the surface there was no green and they snapped like a dead twig. So I chopped off the top half down to the one live green branch with leaves on it. Is it going to be able to come back or did I mess it up even worse by cutting it? Total newbie lol.

  • Advice on easiest way to level this section. It’s like a bowl shape. Pic doesn’t do it justice. But I suspect it isn’t helping my lawn.

Don’t want to scalp or cut super low. Should I just lightly add some topsoil/sand mix? Each week? Or just try a bag or 2 at once. I know with it being around 3” it’ll be a bitch to work down but it’s a small enough spot I can manage. Do you have any recommendations on products to use for the level mix? My I’m in zone 5b Michigan. My soil type is MINERAL. Is all my test says.

Was battling a fungus which I got some dx down the other day and lightly de thatched and I think it’s recovering. But that spot is always the hardest to get looking good.

  • What are these tiny orange-ish dots? They fall off when I brush them… but they don’t look like bugs I’ve had before.

Just picked this plant up from a nursery but didn’t notice the spots
