• Browning where flower fell off

First time gardener this year. Is this browning on my lemon cucumber after the flower fell off normal or an issue of concern? First one of the season. My squash didn’t brown at all when flowers fell.

  • What do I have here and how do I get rid of it?

This is a one year old central Texas lawn - started out as Bermuda but last year and this year I have hundreds of these propagating weeds. They grow like nobody’s business and they are too numerous to pull. Can they be killed selectively?

  • Really thought I had killed my caladium 'Thai Beauty'. Started watering it and this happened in about 4 weeks!

So it was a rough few months for all my plants. Any of them that survived this season of my mental health spiral, is, for real, meant for me.

I went weeks, sometimes a month or more, not watering anyyyyyything. I have a really assorted collection, but it's mostly tropicals. Before? Watered weekly, pruned, fertilized, repotted, the whole thing. You all know. But after some rough times, they all took a backseat to my survival. The cactus and succulents were chill about it, but I lost many plants this year.

But this one was always one of my faaaavorites. Even when my collection was 200+. It got so big every year I owned it (I can't remember if this is year 3-4?). They were huge, vibrant, and just freaking cool. And I had to do nothiiiing. It lived on my patio and I watered it with a garden hose. So this winter, all the leaves had died, and I shamefully dumped out the pot to see if the corm had made it. 2 very small ones somehow did! So I put them in a new pot, WATERED THEM, and a few weeks later I had a sprout! So one pink and white leaf came out and I wanted to cry. The next 2 came this week after I soaked it in water for about 4 days. Then I went to take it out and saw the flower!

The gasp I let out was probably heard by my neighbors across the street. Even with all it's big, gorgeous leaves, I've never had a flower before! It's gorgeous but my camera sucks. I'll try to take a better photoshoot later. I'm not going to lie, already researched how to pollinate

Bright pink hope for me today.

  • East facing trailing Sedum recommendations (UK)

Hello! Looking to narrow down the best type of sedum for these small wall planters (ideally trailing). I’m a beginner so please take my investigations to date kindly!

This is an east facing wall with sunlight for most of the day, and I’m based in the southeast so it’s generally pretty temperate with decent sunlight.

Google is telling me the record low in my area was around -4c (25F), record high 33c (91F) - I feel like I’ve known more than this, but it probably just felt worse at the time! We definitely have frosty mornings in winter though (scraping of windshields required).

So far I’ve narrowed it down to Sedum Cauticola (Coca cola as it’s known as I believe?). Whilst the light blue green and purple foliage is lovely (as are the pink flowers), some images show them turning a very deep maroon colour that I’m not keen on. Do they all do that or am I missing something?

Also on the list is Sedum October Daphne, beautiful trailing plant with pink flowers on the end, however it says I may need to protect from frost, which isn’t feasible.

Are there any other trailing light coloured Sedum plants that are frost resistant?

    Thank you!
