• Recently purchased umbrella tree

Just bought today from FB. First time owning a tree like this. I did give it some fertilizer after reading (and the person I bought it from suggested it). Will the leaves pop back up or is there anything else I should do to get them not so droopy?

Currently next to window, so it will get plenty of light and just watered it after fertilizing.

I added cacti to the top and better lighting/plants for the bottom row. I just got my string of Pearls healthy again and I'll be dawned if I commit my original sin again!

  • Too big of a pot right?

Sorry for the double post but I grabbed this too when I was at Home Depot and completely spaced out on grabbing a planter, this is all I have on hand. Will it work or do I just need to go grab a 4 incher?

  • Rookie lawn care

Got rid of our lawn care company due to cost and I’m having a go at it myself this year. I fertilized with Jonathan Green crab-grass preventer back in March, some Ortho weed killer about a month later, and did the Weed-n-feed about couple of weeks ago before we were hit with quite a bit of rain. Did I not use enough? Or are these stripes just where most of it settled? Should I hit it with another round of weed and feed to even it out?

Located in Southern Illinois, just looking for a bit of advice and trying to prevent nuking my yard. Thanks in advance.

  • Ideas for theses bookish plant pots?

I have a bunch of these ceramic pots and a few larger plastic clear ones. They have no drainage holes and they're oddly shaped so putting a nursery pot in them doesn't really work. I was thinking fully hydroponic english ivy would be cute. Would that work? I don't really want to mess with an air stone because they're on my cubicle desk. I thought about leca but it seems like a pita without a nursery pot.

Open to most ideas but would prefer to work with plants I already have. (3 different types of syngonium, English ivy, pothos, silver dragon alocasia)

  • Black/brown spots on monstera leaves?

What the title says. My monstera keeps getting these dark brown-black spots on the leaves. Another leaf is affected every few weeks or so. I've tried (gentle) bug sprays, moving her out of direct sunlight, trimming the affected leaves, but nothing.

Right now she gets indirect sunlight through a NW-facing window. I water whenever the soil feels dry (in this summery weather that's about once a week); usually I take out the inside pot and water over the sink to let the excess drain out, then replace the inside pot in the outside pot. I keep dust off her leaves and try to make sure she doesn't have wet feet (leading to root rot).

I'm really not sure what else I can do; nearly all my other plants are thriving under the same conditions. Any help is much appreciated!
