• What is this? It just “appeared” by the front steps earlier this year and now it’s over 6 feet tall. (NW Ga)

  • Thank you from Michigan

Had to take a minute to drop a thank you to this sub. After two years of following and reading and a couple YouTube videos, I decided to murder my patchy weed and fungus lawn this year. Tilled the soil, added 4 yards of top soil, and finally got myself my dream KBG lawn.

Need all the feedback I can for summer weed management and my first swing at the fall overseed. But thank you all for your insight!

  • Stem (?) growing from my succulent?

First off, I’m not sure what type of succulent this is. I got it as a gift about three years ago, and up until about a month ago it has just been the base leaves (this past year it’s really flourished, it used to be super small and flat).

It may be the warmer weather, or maybe its age, but it started growing a stem/sprout-y thing! It was small at first, i thought it would just be a short extension of the larger plant. But in the past few weeks it’s really picked up its growth—it’s about 9.5 inches now, about a week ago I’m estimating it was maybe 5 inches.

I don’t have a set schedule to water it, I just do whenever the dirt seems especially dry and/or the leaves are brittle/wilting. It always sits on my windowsill facing north, so it gets indirect, diffused sunlight as well as light from my ceiling. It gets fresh air from my windows also.

Is this growth good or bad?

  • End of driveway.

So the end of my driveway gets these holes in them. I put some gravel there and it last for a bit and the holes come back. Any recommendations for a permanent fix? I thought about asphalt or concrete.

  • Harvested my first garlic!

Probably could've left them longer but I needed the space.

  • Newbie collection

Hi lovelies! I just started my succulent collection. These are my babies Heavy Machinery, Diesel, and Pawl Atreides (from left to right)

I got them all from Lowe’s not too long ago. Hoping the googly eyes don’t affect the cactus’ growth too much but I’m excited to start my journey!
