• Old parsnip - should I cook it?! :)

Look at this parsnip! She overwintered secretly and I planted flowers in the bed over the spring - including asters that have similar-ish foliage.

I didn’t notice it was a parsnip until it was far too late and google told me it wouldn’t be good to eat. I wanted to let it go to seed, but today I got tired of it blocking all my sunlight and with no flowers in sight.

Look at the root that came out should I attempt to eat it? Probably gonna be woody and weird but I’m so curious haha

    24” pavers for reference!

  • flowering questions

hello! i’m new to caring for air plants and i got my first one recently from a plant store in Cali while on a road trip.

when i got home, i waited a couple days for it to get settled before i watered it. after watering, the plant immediately flowered, and im kinda concerned.

i’ve seen other plants who flower as a last dying breath because they are dying and trying to save themselves in any way they can. can this happen to air plants?

i saw that they flower then produce babies before dying, but im concerned that maybe im doing something wrong.

does anyone have any tips or answers?

  • Sick Farfugium japonicum Argenteum

Hello. This leopard plant is about 10 years old, but it went through a dramatic sickness when I moved from L.A. to Montana. It shoots up new leaves quickly and robustly, but as soon as the leaves mature they get these brown spots. I feel like I have a pretty good handle on its light and water and food needs, but I just can’t nail down this issue. Thoughts?

  • Strawberry Plants Not Producing Berries

I planted 10 strawberry plants from a local greenhouse in a raised bed about 6 weeks ago (early May). About 2 weeks after planting I had around 10 small berries in total but haven't had any since. I planted with smarty plants soil, fertilized with Espoma Berry Tone. I'm in south east Michigan, I water about 3 times a week in the mornings, and they get about 6 hours of sun a day. Am I doing anything wrong or should I manage my expectations for this summer?
