• White eggs in plant soil and leaves after I moved my indoor plant outdoors. What do I do?

I recently moved my indoor plant outside to dry out (2 days) bc the leaves were yellowing so I was worried the roots were experiencing rot. When I checked on it today to move it back inside there were all these little white eggs in the soil. What are these? Should I be worried and not move it back inside?

I’ve been watering it very infrequently (like once every 3 weeks indoors) bc the soil is still wet and I’ve heard these plants need very little water.

The plant sits by a window with not the best exposure (big tree outside), but when I put it outside it was getting full sun.

  • Thinning and Yellowing St Augustine

Zone 9 b. Raining like crazy lately. Trying to figure out if I cut the grass too low or if it might be diseased.

  • My first Alocasia pup 🥹

Long time lurker, first time poster!

I finally worked up the courage to buy my first alocasia from Home Depot about 6 months ago (can’t remember the type but she was this gorgeous shiny dark green just like the pup in the photo). I did my research, meticulously transferred her to pon, and she proceeded to die RAPIDLY over the course of a month. I wish I had a picture of her but she started dying so quickly and tragically that I couldn’t bear to document it . In hindsight, I think I didn’t let her acclimate to my home long enough before transferring to pon.

Anywayyyy, when I transferred her I found about 8 corms, which I stuck in homemade self watering containers with stratum/perlite mix on a heating mat and today, one of those has finally sprouted. I am in absolute disbelief and I just hope I can give this pup that my first alocasia didn’t get 🥹

  • Weird looking brown carrot (probably not a carrot)

It has pink streaks going up and down the stem. The root itself is brown. The leaves have these yellow/green orb/pollen things that easily fly off. This was found in Ontario, Canada.

  • A good lesson for me to not pull things thinking they may be weeds. Because they also may be this.

I bought my house 5 years ago and keep finding surprises. Not sure what the plant is though.

  • First time using a stripper

Still learning but realized the added weight makes the lawnmower harder to maneuver. Using Ryobi electric and striped attachment.

  • Backyard Drainage

We have a drainage issue with our backyard. No issue when the rain is mild to moderate. Only when the rain is quite heavy. At that point the water just pools and lays there. I've had two people bid on putting in a french drain. They both want to put in a box drain. Our yard is relatively small and I don't want to have a 12x12 drain in it. It's also not an every day problem. So I told them I'd prefer to have a buried french drain. They just told me that they weren't as confident with that and they really want to put in a box drain. Attached is a photo with sketches of what I have in mind. Once I get it to the gate then I can tie it into our downspouts which run all the way down to the street. I can put in plenty of slope in the drain. Is my idea wrong for any obvious reason? Do you have any suggestions for improvement or alternative?

  • Staghorn Fern Advice

I picked this guy up with very little knowledge about this type of fern, but knowing for sure it shouldn’t be set up in this self watering pot. Any advice for how to repot this guy, what variant he may be, should I prune away any of the dead leaves (the browning bits at the center that are shaped like shelf mushrooms) or let them go, and just general advice. After a bit of research I know I need to get a wall planter and they apparently like banana peels? It gets afternoon sun for about 2 hours then is shaded the rest of the day, but I was going to move him into my living room and mount him on my wall near my southern facing window.
