• Am I right in thinking these are aphids?

Between three plants I have two leaves like this, I cut them off and disposed of them. Hopefully I've dodged the worse of it

Gave a succulent arrangement as a gift a few years ago. Only this guy remains...what is it? Is it healthy?

  • I repotted my pachyphytum bracteosum outside

I recently got a pachyphytum bracteosum from a big box store, and repotted it outside last week. Apparently I missed a tiny fallen leaf because this was waiting for me this morning while I was repotting another plant. It’s a tiny little thing, but had rooted in the bit of soil I didn’t clean up. It’s now been placed in its own little pot. We’ll see how it does!

  • A salad spinner full of greens from my little urban garden

This is my first year with the raised bed garden. I'm in zone 9 (Seattle). This is from a "spring greens mix" with arugula, mizuna, red Russian kale, tatsoi, and cress. I hadn't heard of some of those before. I threw a bunch of these seeds into my garden pretty densely, and I've been harvesting a salad this size about twice a week!

  • Newbie Question… There’s a blade and string after?

I bought this edger and realized today it has a blade. I didn’t know they existed. So I tried it today and liked it… but I’ve seen people hold the string edger horizontally over small patches of grass to mow them. It looks like I’m unable to do that effectively with the blade edger?

Is it just for mowing vertical lines?

What are the pros and cons of each. Should I return and get a string one?

  • Humble beginnings?

Hello! My wife surprised me with a juniper bonsai a few weeks ago and I decided on jumping in feet first by getting a second evergreen to bonsai! I’m excited to acquire more and see how quickly I can surpass my wife’s houseplant collection
