• Sand or dirt? Northern US

Might be hard to see but I have some uneven dips in our new house where it seems water runoff has not made the lawn even. Should I do sand or dirt? I finally got a decent looking lawn…

  • One year in

Moved apartments when I first set this up and had some difficulties finding the right light levels for these lower light plants, but been a couple months of smooth sailing now. May need to do a chop on the Jewel orchid (Macodes petola) soon. Other plants included are Begonia sp. sarawak, Sonerilla sp. ‘Glowing Dots’, Maxilaria notycidelossa and the fern (Microgramma heterophylla)

  • I recently had my yard cleaned up, and this little guy was left behind. Google and iPhone say it’s a mulberry tree, but I think it might be a weed. The stalk is THICK. The only other plants around it are tall grass and a flowering plum with purple leaves (I think).

  • Stromanthe Triostar. They hate it where they are! I'm going to repot them, but do I need a solid bottom pot for each one or one with a hole in it? I don't know what kind of fertilizer to use or how often. Soil is wrong. Needs less light. Help, please!

I put my succulents outside a couple of weeks ago, but now I noticed that this one seems to have bites taken out of it. What do i do?

  • Mold and lichen growing on hardscape?

When I started building my first set of terrariums I used charcoal soaked in deionised water as a hardscape, but recently they’ve been growing mold and what looks like sulfur dust lichen on them. Any ideas why, or how I can fix this?
