• What kind of plant do you think I should put in this pot?

I got this new planter today at a pride festival and want to put some kind of complimentary plant. The opening is about 3.5 inches. Thanks for any input and happy pride month! 🩷

  • How to fix this yard

I posted in Lawn Care as well but figured I’d try here!

Hi! I live in the greater San Diego area, and we are renting a house currently. There’s a side yard that is very scraggly with weeds etc (photo attached) but has sprinklers. It gets a lot of sun throughout the entire day with shade in the later evening. What would be a good way to go about making it more grassy/less weedy and more habitable? I’m not looking to put in a ton of money (since it’s a house we are renting) but I think I can leave it a bit better than I found it. I will say I have no lawn experience, but I’m a motivated learner!

  • Picked up my first agave!

I had been eyeing a larger one at Lowe’s for a few weeks now, but at $53, it wasn’t gonna happen.
Then my friend noticed this guy! For $13!
    I’m beyond excited!

I believe it’s an agave parryi truncata (at least that is what was written on the pot)

  • Styling advice

Got this Eastern Red Cedar earlier this year, did some major pruning and some wiring. I think I will keep it in a formal upright style but haven’t really found any inspiration for this so I’m leaving it for now. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

  • Where to plant maple trees

I’m looking to plant a few red maple trees in a clear field to enhance a school’s exterior (think of atudents reading under a tree’s shade). The only parameter I received that trees should have a minimum planting area of 130 sq. ft. I’d like to plant one tree on the left section, and five on the right section (see map & arrows). As a non-expert, my question is, where should we place the trees?
