  • Help my Mediterranean Spurge is dying and I don’t know what to do

My Mediterranean spurge I got a while back isn’t looking good. It started looking rough a while back but suddenly has gone all brown now. Is it too late to save it or is there still something I can do. I water it every other day a little bit yet it still looks brown and dying. It gets plenty of light, it sits by my window which gets full sun everyday, plus a grow light sits above it for days when the sun isn’t out as much. Any help would be great. Thank you

  • Behold: I have beaten the chipmunks

We bought this house in 2020, and every year we have waited patiently for the garden's strawberries to ripen.

Every year, without fail, the chipmunks have gotten to them first.

Fed up after three years of this, I moved most of the plants into our raised beds. Last year, we got a few juicy red berries to share; the chipmunks ate the rest before they could blush.

This year, however, I have been able to pick a whole bowl of strawberries, seeing only a couple half-eaten fruits. We have changed nothing, so I'm unsure of the cause of this delightful harvest, but these days I am looking to take whatever bits of good news I can get.

    I will still take any/all plant-protection advice y'all will give, though. ;)

  • Weird Grass Coloring – Light & Dark Green Patches, Lines & Spots – Any Advice? Ontario

    Hey everyone,
I'm having some strange issues with my lawn this summer. There are two different shades of green showing up — some areas are a nice dark green while others are noticeably lighter. It's not uniform at all.

What’s weird is that there are both lines (almost like mowing stripes but not clean) and random round or blotchy spots throughout. Some parts of the lawn look great, others just look sickly or underfed.

    A few things to note:

    I’m in Ontario

    Lawn gets regular mowing

I haven’t applied any fertilizer or weed killer yet this season

It’s been a mix of hot sunny days and a fair bit of rain

No known pests that I’ve noticed

Could this be an issue with uneven watering, compacted soil, a nutrient imbalance, or something else? Any advice or tips are appreciated — just trying to get my lawn looking healthy and consistent again. Happy to share photos if needed.

    Thanks in advance!

  • “Overflow ditch” in need of riparian landscaping in west TN, 8a. Help please!

So full disclosure we’ve had much more rain than usual this year, but I have this patch of grass that has remained too soggy for me to mow all year—the trimming it has received has been from a weed eater. So here’s the situation—there is a pond across the street that, when it overflows, is designed to take this route to a lower pond. It’s my first year in this home, and my initial inclination was to leave it be, but as you can see on the left side, it’s beginning to wash out and erode deeper. I’d like to address this before I have a large gulley in my yard. Any ideas where to start here beyond googling riparian plants that work in my zone? Ideally something that will slow, but still allow this necessary drainage while not becoming a mosquito farm! Interested, not Justin plants, but design ideas, etc. Happy to share more pictures if it’s helpful. Thanks!

  • Creeping Charlie in Michigan

    First time lawn warrior here,

Im trying to get a proper lawn in order through seeding and theres a ton of ground ivy in the yard. Ive starting pulling them but Im worried it might be in vain as they grow quite quickly. Ive read some chemical herbicides can help when applied in the fall but Im worried it might take out my fresh grass in the process.

Dont suppose theres a magic juice that will kill the creeping charlie and leave my newly grown grass alone? If not whats the best treatment to go with that isnt scorched earth?

  • What have I done?

I put together this terrarium at the start of the year. It’s been going great and then today this guy looks like he’s rotting.

I’m very careful with my watering and let the terrarium fully dry out before watering some more. Did I just get too cocky and confident? Did I give it too much water last week.

If I hold off watering this week can I salvage? Help first time owning succulents.

If as per rules this is not enough info or pics let me know I can provide more info in comments and maybe more pics.
