Lower and lean tomatoes are now resting on the soil. Is this going to ruin my fruit? This is my first year trying this method. I've tried everything else and this is by far the easiest to maintain and manage. I would love to continue doing it this way every summer but I'm concerned that having the fruits resting on the soil will cause them to rot before they start to ripen. I'll never go back to using .105 on my gas trimmer again. This string is a brutal. - [Zone 8a] I'm sure I'll get truckloads of hate mail for using a rapid loader, but I weedeated and edged two (2500-3000sq ft) yards (mine and my parents' front yards) and some of my backyard with the same two 7" pieces before they finally wore down. I've been using the same brand in .105 since 2016 and it took me 6-8 pieces to do the same amount. And 0.95 wasn't even tolerable. Slowed me down way too much. Can these lettuce be saved? Yesterday was quite warm where I am and when I woke up today to water my balcony garden I noticed my lettuce looks terrible. I cut away the really withered looking leaves that are touching the dirt. Should I cut away all wilted leaves? I also gave the soil a good soaking.
