  • How to promote moss growth in the garden?

    Hi everyone, complete novice here

My family recently inherited this house but I no longer have no one taking care of the garden

In this area there used to be a lot of moss, now I have all kinds of weeds growing, how can I promote the growth of moss? I don't want to disturb wildlife too much nor a solution that requires too much maintenance (I am only here once every few weeks, especially in the summer)

The house is in central Italy ~850m

Thanks everyone in advance, I've been lurking here a few weeks and I really enjoy y'all

  • How to prevent this?

I have a similar hedge in my yard. When I trim it, how do I avoid creating dead spots like the one in my picture?

Can dead spots like these ever recover? (I feel like I’ve never seen dead spots go from looking bare/dead to green again)

  • Will Grass Recover from Mud? (Raleigh, NC)

We had a fence installed and near some of the posts, a good bit of dirt/clay/mud got left behind and really covered a few areas of the grass. I pulled a lot off of it and this is what I've got.

Will this recover on its own or will it stay muddy? Any suggestions?
