I messed up big time
Guys I need any and all help yall can give. I uprooted a bunch of elderberry plants between our house and our shed. My wife got very upset last year when these bushes were cut / trimmed when me and a buddy were working outside clearing up.
We’ve been in this house for 8 years and these plants were already planted when we moved in. It took a couple years for her to realize they were elderberry and once she did, she was so excited at the thought of them fruiting. And I royally screwed up by completely uprooting damn near all of it
I went out and grabbed what looked like it might be salvageable (longest roots, most leaves, pieces with small seeds / berries) and tried replanting them as best as I could. The area they were in is mostly gritty dirt (not what I would think as soil) and small rocks, like for driveways and walkways
I am planning to get a work truck tomorrow and get some soil from a local plant place and try to mix some of that in.
I want to look for some more pieces in the daylight that I can try to plant elsewhere too, hoping it will grow there. My wife has tried to get the plant to take other places but didn’t have any luck.
Any ideas on sun / shade, pots, fertilizers, anything really I welcome. I have to figure out a way to fix this for her
I will take some better pictures tomorrow when it’s light out, if that will help
I watered everything after I tried to replant it and will do more tomorrow in the different areas / methods
