  • Cucumber Plant Dying

Hello everyone, this is my first time growing cucumbers and I had a few good cucumbers to start but since then my plant has been becoming more yellow and has these brown spots. The cucumbers aren't really growing anymore, and the flowers are falling off. Can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong?

  • [HELP] New Sod Dried Out – Started Watering Late, Can It Still Recover?

Hey folks, builder laid new sod about 4 days ago, but I wasn’t able to water it until yesterday due to travel. Now parts of it look yellow, dry, and even worse today than when I started watering.

    * I’ve started **deep watering 2 times a day** (morning and evening soak).
    * Some areas are **squishy**, likely from soaking hard-dry soil.
    * There are **gaps between pieces**, and some corners are curling.

A few patches show **green shoots near the base**, but others are gray-brown and brittle. I’m trying to figure out:

    1. How long before I see green again (if it’ll recover)?
    2. How to tell which patches are dead vs. revivable?
    3. When I should back off watering to avoid overdoing it?

Any advice or experience would be super appreciated — don’t want to lose the whole lawn. I am based in Oakville, ON, Canada.

  • Should I thin my basil?

Getting conflicting information online. As you can see, I planted more than one seed in bunches, like the one pictured. They seem to be thriving, even though some bunches have 3-5 main stems very close together (less than one inch in some bunches). Do I need to thin these?

The deer managed to eat my sunflowers again this year. This one was in a pot next to the porch so didn't get snacked on. I love sunflowers, but the deer seem to love them more

  • Reposting - Plant/shrub accidentally transplanted with wild spicebush, Virginia zone 8b

    A few notes:

    * alternate leaves, no teeth
    * leaves densely hairy on top and catch the light like velvet, bottom of leaves also hairy but much finer
    * stalk is slightly hairy and turning red towards the base
    * plant is 1.5 ft tall and no signs of any bark developing
    * no notable smell from leaves when torn or crushed
