Mowing high, dry and often in Zone 7a I finally got a zero turn mower this year to tame my formerly beastly lawn. 4” cut mostly. The yard was overgrown for years. I’ll be overseeding for the first time with a tall fescue in September. Every year something weird, like a mullein plant or a Joe Pye weed will sprout up in the spring, and I’ll mow around it and let it grow.
