What do I do? Montana Bitterroot area of Montana. It’s cold in the winter but gets to be 90’s in the summer. I noticed when I was watering my lawn yesterday, the water was just making a puddle and not really absorbing. I have a lot of deer that walk through this part and sleep under the trees so I know that the ground is pretty compacted. I have an aerator that I just bought and will use that today. Is it too late to overseed? Should I just fertilize it? The grass is really patchy now too. I know not much will grow under the pine tree but I would like grass in the other parts.
