Brown patches in Northern Utah Hi! We live in northern Utah and have a new house that came with 1 year old grass. I don’t think it was taken care of well before we moved in by the builders. We have a relatively sandy base. We’ve mowed, my husband has watering schedule 4 days a week 30 min 60 min 30 min for different zones depending on the sprinkler type I think. He’s done power raking (early spring) IFA steps 1 & 2 and is following the IFA protocol, -urea 46-0-0 & pre emergent (march) -humate (may) -grub killer (may) It seems no matter what is done the yard has tons of brown spots that just don’t turn green.
