Question about my soil (southeast MI, Macomb county) My front and back yard are both very bumpy. I'm just starting to really care about it, and want to level it all out. Front yard is the smallest (read: cheapest) so I'm starting there. Ive got a line on plenty of sand, but read somewhere you shouldnt use sand if you have clay in the soil. Google says Macomb county is mostly clay soil. However, this small plug from my lawn doesnt appear to show any clay should it be fine to go ahead with sand to level?
