[HELP] New Sod Dried Out – Started Watering Late, Can It Still Recover?

Hey folks, builder laid new sod about 4 days ago, but I wasn’t able to water it until yesterday due to travel. Now parts of it look yellow, dry, and even worse today than when I started watering.

* I’ve started **deep watering 2 times a day** (morning and evening soak).
* Some areas are **squishy**, likely from soaking hard-dry soil.
* There are **gaps between pieces**, and some corners are curling.

A few patches show **green shoots near the base**, but others are gray-brown and brittle. I’m trying to figure out:

1. How long before I see green again (if it’ll recover)?
2. How to tell which patches are dead vs. revivable?
3. When I should back off watering to avoid overdoing it?

Any advice or experience would be super appreciated — don’t want to lose the whole lawn. I am based in Oakville, ON, Canada.
