• Is this Dogwood toast ?

First time planting shrubs. Dogwood behind tomato cage has been in the ground about a month. Should I cut off right two branches? Is it already too leggy? Is there any way to get it to grow? Is it a lost cause? TIA!!

  • Rescued Japanese Maple

This fellow was left by the previous owner at my house in a barrel that was decaying. The roots had grown deep through holes in the deck and it took about 12 hours for me to dig them out and repot in this temporary planter. That was a few months ago now and I’m so relieved they survived!
Not sure what direction to go with styling, so current plan is to keep them as healthy as possible and see if theres a way I can encourage the trunk to thicken up. Have never attempted anything this large before and it’s an interesting shape to start with
Really excited to try and make a pot for them. Thinking I will sculpt it with clay, make a mold for backup, and then try building a primitive kiln around the pot to fire it in.

  • Greening?

    **Located in Central Florida**

I recently noticed some yellow specks on one of the leaves of my Yuzu tree. It was shipped from the nursery about two and a half weeks ago. To protect it from pests (most Psyllids), I placed it inside the screened patio. I inspect the tree daily and haven’t observed any signs of infestation.

When potting, I used Miracle-Gro citrus fertilizer. I haven’t watered the tree in about a week since it’s been raining nearly every day. I position the tree close to the enclosure screen to maximize direct sunlight during the day, as the roof only allows partial sun exposure. I also check the soil moisture by hand daily, and the top two inches usually remain moist.

Does it look like HLB? I haven't seen any bugs on the tree from when I received it until now.

  • Lawn health - 5B central MI

Lawn looked great 2 weeks ago, after cutting yesterday I’m now noticing dead grass throughout the whole lawn - any ideas on what caused this and how I can green it back up? I put down a weed and feed on May 9th and it’s looked good up until now.

  • Japanese maple to save

Hi, here's a photo of my Japanese maple. I'm not a specialist but I have the impression that it's not doing well at all.
I water it 1-2 times a week and it's on a south-facing balcony with a bit of sun.
I should point out that I got it back from the previous tenant and I haven't changed anything about the position on the balcony.
I have the impression that I'm doing something wrong. Its condition has deteriorated since May. (After looking wonderful at the beginning of April).

Does it lack water? Has he been overheated?
And how can I save him?

  • Separation time

Everyone’s yard on my street is green during spring, but as the weather changes, this is where I pull away.

Ps. You may notice a lil nitrogen spillage, that caused a slight burn, but trust me it’s being addressed.

My housemate had been keeping this buddy dried out for some two years I think. What a beast. Any tips on when to pot and how to have it grow nice and straight?
