  • What's this plant?

Ignoring the magnolia top right, what is this plant that has completely dominated this spot?

I planted multiple plants in this spot last year, but this one plant has absolutely dominated everything this year. I can't remember the name, but I do remember it produces very fragrant flowers later summer.

  • Birds of paradise pot size?

It seems pretty happy in its pot. However I've been thinking of moving it to a bigger one before it starts to grow roots through the bottom holes. I have one pot the size of my sketch. Will the bird benefit from a deeper pot, or would a wider one be better?

  • Boxwood diseased, thirsty, etc?

ChatGPT told me that my boxwood bush could be suffering from mites, fungus, dehydration, or depression. I’ve added drip irrigation to the base of the stem with watering for 10 min, twice a week, and it gets full sun for about half the day in my front yard but I haven’t seen much change over the past week. What else should I do, or do I just have to wait for time to reveal my boxwood’s fate?

  • Found these while removing caterpillars from my plant - friend or foe?

Tiny little brown/red nymphs of some kind that haven’t moved since I discovered them a few hours ago.
