  • Can I break up the Zantedeschia aethiopica lilly?

I have been very lucky with these. They are huge and have come back year after year more dense than before.

I'd like to separate them and spread the. Out a bit. Any experience with the root / tuner system? Not sure how to even excavate these without doing damage.

They have very little downtime during the winter. Last year there was foliage right through into spring.

Thanks for any advice or experience.

  • Peonies

I have extremely tall peonies in my garden that fall over. I have cages around each peony. Is my only solution just taller cages?

  • How do I read lil miss Dorothy here

Will she shrivel a lil when I need to water? Or will the color turn more 'sage' when she needs a drink? Should I be concerned that the bumps are super fuzzy looking near the tips? Crap I'm doing it again aren't I?

Please just reply, "No you psycho, if you think you should water it, wait a week". That's all. I know that's the answer. I just need to hear it from someone else. Maybe many of you. And you all know and I for SURE know, I'm gonna water anyway.

    Happy Friday plant fam.

  • Spiral Cactus Help

Anyone know my spiral Cactus is light/ yellow in the middle? It was under a grow light (my house is dark inside) for months (Dec to mid-May) but I've recently moved him outside where he can get full sun. It has been rainy a lot recently though, so maybe it's gotten too much water... His base doesn't look rotted and the center isn't squishy; just yellow. Too little light initially?

I'm tired of killing cactuses and succulents

  • Help deciding shape for flower beds

I am just mustering the confidence to finally create a flower bed around my back patio. It’s an ugly, rectangle, concrete slab and the previous owners put in beds that went around the edge following the shape. I mean, the beds had 90 degree angles at the corners and were crooked all over the place. I’ve let it grow over, except for the right side where I weeded and, regretfully, planted lamb’s ear. I plan to remove the lamb’s ear, edge a new bed and till. But…what shape do I do? This is where I get hung up. I can’t envision it. Does anyone have a vision they could share for inspiration?

I have a kiddo so I was thinking I could add some type of stone walkway. But, I’m a total novice and get analysis paralysis! And, I need to do this on the cheap. I appreciate any support as I explore this new venture of landscaping!

  • Holes.

Aynor, SC (40 min west of Myrtle Beach, SC)

    Is this Bermuda grass?
What to fill holes with? (Priority is to fill then hope for growth.)

I was going to do potting soil but was reading a mix with sand and now I feel more lost than initially.

Pic of one hole & artist. (It doesn’t look bad w/ the growth covering it making them more lethal for ankles but they’re all at least 1/2ft deep. )
