• First time growing strawberries

So I started some june bearing strawberries this year. Flavorfest variety. I’ve never grown strawberries before, and I’m curious if I’m supposed to cut them back the first year?

A few different places I’ve seen recommend cutting the foliage back after harvest to encourage bud development for the next year, but since I’ve been pinching the flowers naturally it won’t really produce anything.

My plan was to just leave them until the fall since I wanted em doing root stuff. Is there any point to cut them back at this point? Do I even need to bother cutting them back at all? Why didn’t I look into any of this before buying 42 plants? Who knows.

  • Been taking my Rosella (parrot) out with me while I garden

She usually just snacks on a strawberry while I water the plants and pull the weeds.

  • why does my venus flytrap look sad?

the traps keep turning black. i’ve been pruning them when they do, but how do i make it stop happening? for watering, i mist it generously every day and my pot has adequate drainage. it gets full sun on my windowsill. there are enough little gnats in my room to feed it

  • Mimosa / silk tree trapped in undead purgatory?

This mimosa lost leaves as normal in the winter but has no new growth this year, and the lower half seems trapped in some sort of Picture of Dorian Gray type perpetual undead summer where it never lost its leaves in the winter but has no new growth this year either. Would love some advice on how to salvage or help it recover.

Was bought as a massive outdoor potted tree from a garden center 2 summers ago. It spent one year summer-summer on a covered balcony, lost its leaves relatively late (after the first frosts) and only grew new leaves in early summer. It spent the last year indoors in a sunroom (heated, but poorly insulated) which experiences summer temps between 18-32 C and winter temps between 12-24 C. Medium humidity in summer and low humidity in winter. It flowered last last summer.

Watering: 1-2x/week. Soil kept consistently lightly damp at an inch or so below the surface but not oversaturated, no visible evidence of mold, bottom of pot is well drained. May have been overwatered a few times.
    Light: Plenty of natural light.
    No visible pests.

Ignore the lemon and olive photobombers.

    Appreciate any help! Thanks!
