  • Need help choosing the right grow lights for a bigger table

    Hey all,

TL;DR; - AI image for reference, what grow lights would I need for a 60x30 inch (150x75 cm) table setup with different sized succulents spread over it?

After potting all the smaller jades from the 30 years old plant in my last post, I'm now looking for a good place for them. We live in an attic flat without any good windows for plants. I have a few gollum jades outside but the space under the canopy is very limited. So my idea was to build a decorative table for the plants where I can keep them year round.

The image is AI generated to roughly illustrate the idea (helps myself imagine what I want to build). The rock split would be just for decoration. The plan for the table is to use a roughly 60x30 inch (150x75 cm) plate. That should give enough space to spread the plants out a bit (don't want it to look crammed).

Now obviously this table would need some grow lights for the plants. This is where I'd need some help choosing the right lights for the task. I can get some SANSI full spectrum LEDs and gooseneck stands/clips. How many lights and what wattage would I need for the task? And how far away would I place the lamps from the plants? Would 2 20W LEDs centered left and right suffice? Or would multiple smaller lights work better? I've never used grow lights, so hard to tell for me.

Just for reference, the plants are roughly 6-14 inches high (15-35cm) including the pot. 28 inches (70cm) if I want to put the old jade on there.

    Thanks in advance!

  • Spacing

    Spacing

I direct sowed these into the ground and had great success! It pains me to pull any and I should have done it sooner. They all look pretty good and a couple already have little squash. How do I determine which ones to cull? How many can reasonably fit here?

  • Bird of Paradise folding leaves?!

Hey guy, we just recently took our BOP out of a reptile terrarium and potted it in much much more soil. Thing is that although i would assume it has a better environment now, its growth rate has reduced and its leaves are starting to fold in on themselves. We water her about once a week when the top soil feels a bit dry, and we face north so our balcony door gives her full indirect sun pretty much all day. What am i doing wrong?? 🫩 (P.S. sorry about all the little holes, we left her on a bookshelf for a few weeks and our cat had a field day)

  • my poor peperomia plant :(

it was doing fine and then it had a bout of root rot, i've tried cutting off the rotted stem like 3x now, even soaking in hydrogen peroxide and everything but the stem kept rotting so i keep cutting :(

the small pot is what it has been in, with some indirect north facing light and watered 1x a week which i guess was too much for this guy. the soil started getting all hard on top and i think thats what caused the rot

    advice?

  • Yellow flowering plant growing wild in a wooded area in the UK. Would love to know what it is!

I hope someone can id this; I've been hoping to find something that will grow under some trees in our back garden. This seemed to be thriving in a shady spot, but I've never seen it before.
