I destroyed my boys So my pepper plants here (Candy Cane Chocolate Cherry) had very “mis colored “ leaves. I took a picture of the plant and put it through google search and got an AI statement about the leaves suffering from mite damage. Thinking that it was infested with something I couldn’t find, I removed all the leaves I thought were infected. After doing all that and spending time down there I finally bothered to clean the mud off the plant tag and google what it’ll turn into since i’d forgotten. Spider webs in my caladium? I bought this caladium from a farmers market on Sunday, and thought it would be best to leave it alone and let it acclimate to my apartment before I repot it (the roots are extending out the bottom of the pot it came in), however there’s a bunch of spider webs in the soil that it came in. What should I do before I repot it? I have a pest spray and was going to douse it in it before I leave to work and come home and try to take off as much of the old soil as possible. But I’m not sure. I also see that some leaves towards the bottom are starting to roll in so thoughts ?? What’s my course of action? I haven’t watered the plant yet, and I have it sitting at my window for right now. NE Florida zone 9A Chat GPT thinks it's some kind of Annona. The tree looks to be at least 10 years old and here in North Florida we have had several freeze events down into the upper 20s over the last 10 years. Then bark is mottled gray. It appears to have been cut down multiple times throughout its life and suckers vigorously from its roots with the tree taking on a coppiced growth appearance.
