• Is this typical of foxgloves?

This plant has nine flower spikes growing off a central flowerless spike. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a foxglove growing like this, but maybe I’ve never paid enough attention?

  • Roly Poly Bug Problems!

I'm growing in some raised beds that I have mulched with some crushed leaves and straw to help with water retention, but it seems to be allowing a massive infestation of roly poly bugs that are eating all the young growths and decimating my plants! Yeast/beer traps catch a few of the bugs but its not enough. Should I just remove the mulch and water more often?

  • When to harvest beets

These went in the ground late for my planting zone (6a and they were transplanted May 11th.

I’ve read to look for the “shoulders”, but didn’t expect these skinny suckers sticking up out of the ground. This is my first time growing beets. Do I continue waiting?

  • Is this peony poppy stressed or sunburned?

I've been growing this peony poppy from seed and noticed this brown tip about a week ago. It around 6+ hours full direct sun. I water 1-2x weekly. No bugs that I have seen. Fertelized with worm castings several weeks ago ans miracle grow singles maybe 1.5 weeks ago.

We have been getting fickle weather where it is sometimes as low as 55 and sometimes as high as 90 just days apart but it probably averages 70-75. It has always been outside in the sun and never moved from inaide, but its definitely hotter now.

  • How to remove scotch broom

Large mound of scotch broom and other junk in the corner of my property. Located in Pacific Northwest. Too thick to be weed whacked. Any tips?

  • My First Homemade Terrarium

I decided to give terrarium making a go and was hoping to get some feedback. Especially since I didn’t exactly follow the rules of terrarium making that I’ve seen.
For my terrarium, I used an old pickle jar, thoroughly rinsed out. The substrate is decorative pebbles, chicken grit, and soil from my garden. My yard (Atlanta, GA) is a marshy forest so there was lots of moss to choose from. I chose two, what I believe to be pincushion moss and a feathery moss that might be a fern moss. As for plants, I roughly identified them as a creeping Jenny and lawnleaf. It had just rained so I didn’t add any water yet, waiting to see how it goes. I sealed the top with a lid before bringing it inside, seeing as I don’t know what exactly might be living in the moss. I’m hoping for some wild springtails but I haven’t seen any yet.
I’m not looking for perfection, but I would love to have reassurance that my little ecosystem won’t die! Or suddenly start fermenting and explode! I’d love any thoughts, suggestions, or critiques! I’d also love to know if anyone has more tips on how to create terrariums on a tight (pretty much nonexistent) budget!

  • Am I doing this right ?

I just got this fly trap yesterday. It had been in soil with one of those pieces of cloth wrapped around it so I cut that off then placed it in a slightly smaller container (the other seemed slightly to big.) with sphagnum moss. I let it sit in this shallow bowl with distilled water for a while then tossed the water.

I tried to feed it an ant that had been crawling on one of my other plants but the trap didn’t trigger and the ant got away.
