• Things to do with prop trimmings?

Just trimmed a leggy polka dot plant and am going to propagate some stems, but the trimmed leaves are too pretty to toss. Anyone have ideas on how to use them?

  • Anyone know what kind of Moth/Bird/Pterodactyl this is?

Yuck. I’m a little squeamish, but when it comes to moths… very squeamish. These dusty ass butterflies creep me out.

This is one of the biggest I’ve seen, and now I’m terrified to go through the rest of the garden

I know they’re harmless, but naaaaaw.

What I’m more worried about is its caterpillar larva… or if there are more in there….

Is this what hornworms turn into?

  • Should I be worried?

I don’t know what kind of plant she is, so I had a hard time researching her. She is about 10 years old and stands about 5 feet tall. My ex husband brought home a small branch which is what I grew her from. I water her when the soil is dry and she is in an East facing window without curtains.
Periodically a few leaves have turned brown and dropped off. Maybe once a month. A few weeks ago, the leaves started turning brown and dropping off, 3 or 4 a week. I looked for parasites and didn’t see any. She has been in the same soil for almost three years. Thank you in advance for anything you can teach me.

  • What is this plant left by the previous owners?

Please can you help me identify what this plant is? Uk based. That crispy brown dead flower at the top was purple in spring and was the only one!

  • Tips for Improvement

    Good afternoon everyone!

I’ve taken a few forays into the savage garden world in the past, and have picked up a sundew plant to try again. I’ve attached a photo for you to see how it’s setup and how it’s looking.

I’m keeping it outside where it receives full morning sun, and afternoon shade. Watering with rain water or distilled water. It’s potted in a ceramic pot with sphagnum moss underneath. At night, there’s a light out on my porch and it catches lots of different bugs.

Anything else I should be aware of to keep it healthy and growing?

    Thanks!

  • What to do with this downspout?

We had heavy rain a few days ago and I noted water spewing from where this downspout meets the earth. I just dug down and have questions - Am I right to assume this is leading into a drain pipe, if the downspout is this far under? There is like a metal mesh in there making it a little hard to dig deeper and the other side is my neighbor’s driveway so I didn’t try. It is not leading into the driveway drain you see in the bottom of the picture, I just had that put in. I looked around and can’t find where it might terminate. This is a late 70s duplex so it may be buried in the vegetation..

Unfortunately the driveway drain was not able to accommodate the amount of water coming to this area so I would really like to fix this drain if possible, instead of diverting to driveway. Are companies like roto rooter able to fix things like this? Or are these types of drains usually collapsed beyond repair?
