What to do with this downspout?
We had heavy rain a few days ago and I noted water spewing from where this downspout meets the earth. I just dug down and have questions - Am I right to assume this is leading into a drain pipe, if the downspout is this far under? There is like a metal mesh in there making it a little hard to dig deeper and the other side is my neighbor’s driveway so I didn’t try. It is not leading into the driveway drain you see in the bottom of the picture, I just had that put in. I looked around and can’t find where it might terminate. This is a late 70s duplex so it may be buried in the vegetation..
Unfortunately the driveway drain was not able to accommodate the amount of water coming to this area so I would really like to fix this drain if possible, instead of diverting to driveway. Are companies like roto rooter able to fix things like this? Or are these types of drains usually collapsed beyond repair?
