  • Plants Live But Don't Grow - NC zone 8a

My pathetic flower garden. The center area has daffodils in it. Something has been planted in every spot. Seeds never come up.

  • What is this a plant that has taken over my chives?

I planted lettuce a few months ago, but that failed to grow, so I tiled up the bed, and I planted chives instead. Now, this has shot up
Around the chives but nowhere else.

  • Help Identifying Bricks?

Hello landscapers! We decided to level out and extend our side garden, we used the concrete bricks in the photo above but ran out. They came with the garden of the home we recently purchased and are looking to get more in a matching style. They are round and have an alternating heights every few units— I’ve reversed google searched for the bricks but haven’t had any luck finding the matching type. If you can help, great! Otherwise we’ll go out and purchase a different style but I thought I’d check here first!

  • my plant room

I moved into a new home in March. because of the timing, i didn't get around to doing my normal spring repotting etc. but i am finally getting everything sorted. This room gets sun from the south and west and it gets HOT and the plants are so happy. i take them out on the stoop to water them and let them say hi to the neighbors and get some fresh air.

  • Is my bonsai salvageable?

A friend of mine looked after this bonsai (Chinese elm) for a couple months. Granted, it looked a little rough when I gave it over.. another friend drunkenly knocked it over in my car and it came out the pot and hasn't emotionally recovered since. But there were still some green leaves.
They told me it hadn't changed much, but when this heatwave hit here in the UK it all went downhill. They said they were letting it soak in water once a week, but last week all the leaves went brown and crispy. When I collected it I was in disbelief 🫠 I've let it properly soak again for 10-15 mins then let it drain, and plan to do this every 2-3 days in the hopes of seeing it return to life... Do you think she is salvageable??

** The plant was sat by the South facing windowsill during the colder months, but since the hotter weather have moved it further back. So still gets sun but not directly.

  • Cucumber pests

What causes the small hole with yellow sludge coming out? I’m having to toss more than half of all my cucumbers and it’s a bit depressing. I have seen about every pest possible on my cucumber plants and trying to figure out specifically what is causing this and what I can do. Pickle worms? I soaked one cucumber in soapy water and a small white worm came out.

  • Rock garden or clover lawn?

We are having our deck replaced and I’d like to turn the section that is currently torn out into either a rock garden or a clover lawn. We are in zone 3b. The overgrown section in the back is a fire pit area and the fence will eventually be replaced as well.

The area gets very hot through the day which is why a lawn might be nice, however we do have dogs so gravel and stepping stones and a few plants would likely hold up to the wear and tear better.

I am totally new to all of his so I’d love any advice or opinions!
