How to make Venus Fly Trap thrive
When I was young, my mother was a professional gardener and used to take me to the shop for professional gardeners. I used to take succulents and carnivores, the succulents liked, but the carnivores ALWAYS died. Now I am trying my luck again with this beautiful venus flytrap, but while I know how to grow Tomatoes and general gardening, I literally have no clue what those carnivores really need from me. Is there a great beginner's guide you can recommend? What are your tips and tricks, where to place it how to water, feed(?) and fertilize it? Happy to get any help!

Should I add water into this sarr?
Read a few things on them like they will produce fluid when they catch a bug but not to the extent of a nepenthes.
Main question is I saw a post saying I could add water if it’s a purpurea hybrid of sorts with an open lid. Not sure the exact cultivar of mine but seems to be correct.
They’re indoors and don’t catch nearly anything compared to my droseras and butterworts (thanks apartment gnats) but would water help their overall health? Or more of a “wouldn’t hurt but wouldn’t help”

Should I repot?
I know CP’s have shallow root systems, so is this Pinguicula Aphrodite okay or should I repot?

Make a Self-Watering ping-rock-bog
You just need a self-watering planter. Fill it with any CP mix, or even spag and stick a rock in it! Moss helps keep the mold at bay. These are a lot of fun to make!

4 Trader Joe's death cube survivors
On the left is my first one, about 4 months old; the smaller ones on the right are only about a week, still getting used to having real sunlight!

Tips for Improvement
Good afternoon everyone!
I’ve taken a few forays into the savage garden world in the past, and have picked up a sundew plant to try again. I’ve attached a photo for you to see how it’s setup and how it’s looking.
I’m keeping it outside where it receives full morning sun, and afternoon shade. Watering with rain water or distilled water. It’s potted in a ceramic pot with sphagnum moss underneath. At night, there’s a light out on my porch and it catches lots of different bugs.
Anything else I should be aware of to keep it healthy and growing?
Thanks!

Where can I find Drosera hamiltonii AND Utricularia simplex?
Carnivorous plant nursery is always sold out when I check online. My Cephalotus cutting I was gifted has taken off and I’d love to do an Australian themed set up. If there’s any other species you’d suggest or other tips please let me know.
I keep my Cephalotus on a mix of Horticultural sand, Peat, and Perlite. I top water every few days and bottom occasionally but I don’t let the feet stay wet long enough I’ve had it about 8 months

Other Bog Plants
Of the non-carnivores I planted in my bog barrels, I think Grass Orchids, Calopogon tuberosus, may be my favorite. Usually the deer have got them by now. Any other bog plants people love to co-habitate with their temperate carns?
