  • Help!! Hibiscus dropped all of its leaves suddenly

My girlfriend and I bought this potted hibiscus (?) tree at Kroger’s about a month ago. It was doing great and blooming but we had a heatwave here in Ohio and suddenly it dropped all of its leaves. Any ideas what’s going on? We water it when the top inch of soil feels dry, it’s in part sun and we have it in a pot with a drainage hole. Average heat at our apartment has been around 85-90 degrees during the day and about 70 degrees at night. Please help!!!

  • Hibiscus got some pest?

This time it's about a plant from my parents.

They have a hibiscus. The plant is located in front of a big window and gets water one time a week as far as I know. Now this little things have shown up. I don't have a better picture but does anyone know what it could be? I live in germany/europe.

This pests are 1-2mm and mostly white.

Any ideas what it is and how to treat it? All answers are appreciated! Thanks!

  • Volunteer Hibiscus Moscheutos cultivar/nativar?

Normally when something new pops up (I’m in the Piedmont region of mid-Atlantic), it’s usually something invasive. But I just noticed this new arrival next to my driveway! Could it be a hardy hibiscus? Any ID help would be appreciated, as I’m trying to do native gardening. It looks like native rose mallow is pink, but I see red cultivars for sale, so trying to differentiate. Maybe it’s a nativar?

  • Monster Sea Hibiscus

I’ve been cultivating this large bonsai for years. Usually, I post photos post-heavy pruning, but after field collection, I’m sharing its current state. It’s in a double pot to stabilize the roots post-dig. Next year, I’ll refine the root system and repot into a larger bonsai container. It’s in recovery now. Defoliation and wiring new growth are planned for next year; this year, I’m limiting work to topiary pruning.

  • Finallllly! a bloom!

Last year we moved to a new-to-us house and I was super excited to build up the long neglected gardens.

I bought a hibiscus thinking it would be a great addition.

Well, I must have bought the world’s dramatic hibiscus bc nothing made her happy.

It only took about 4 months to go from potential to pathetic. She soon became “sticks in a pot.”

I overwintered her in the garage bc I am a glutton for punishment. Brought her outside and expressed my disappointment to her as a plant mom every day for weeks. “I’m not mad. Just disappointed…”

Then… she began to sprout leaves.

And today? I came out to the garden to see **THIS**!

She has earned my love once more. I’m sorry my dear for not believing in you. Mommy’s so proud! 🥹

  • Hibiscus looses Flowers

My Hibiscus Plant flowers and looses them After a few days, but She always gets new ones. Is this normal? She sits on a westwindow.
I water it every 2 to 3 days. It gets Like 5 hours of direct light in the evening.

  • What’s on our hibiscus?

We just noticed this stuff on our hibiscus. So far it seems to be only on this one flower. What is it, and what would be the way to treat this? We’re in Land O Lakes Florida, and the hibiscus is in a big pot in our driveway with drainage and watered regularly. It also has full sun exposure. We plan on planting it in the ground in our back yard, once I remove the mess that is a bougainvillea.

  • She Bloomed Today

It's still amazes me how different #Hibiscus will bloom so randomly from other ones planted @ the same time. I have some that bloomed a couple of weeks ago. This one bloomed just today. Nevertheless, I actually had no idea of the specific color it would be. I am pleasantly surprised!

  • Hibiscus - white spots. Looks like a few very small bugs on a bud too. Too small to describe. FL

This was originally rescued from the side of the road having been dug out of someone’s yard. I had it in a kids wading pool for a year. Recently planted in ground. Watering: Rained a lot these last 3 days. Direct sunlight all day. This wasn’t there when I was nursing it back to health - or maybe it was a lurking problem? How to address? TY!
