Visual Explanation of Strawberry Plant Decline: I decided to make a concise version of my previous post. This is an easy way to understand how strawberry plant productivity slows over time. This is roughly what it would look like if you observed an individual strawberry plant in two different circumstances: One is left alone for a decade (unattended). One is given occasional fertilization and other plants are removed to prevent crowding as runners/roots develop (Maintained). Often strawberry patches are replaced or moved in order to maintain maximum efficiency, but I figure this chart can be used to help people decide how/when to do work on their patches.
