Do I need more patience? Oklahoma here.... first raised bed ... my cucumbers that I thought would be small because I got the bush ones have grown big enough that soon they will develop sentience and take over my yard, my life, my checking account and start wearing my clothes. Yet the dang thing has made only 3 cucumbers so far. there are 50 some odd in various stages of growth. my squash and zucchini seem to be thriving except they need a lesson in sex ed....shy little things haven't learned that it takes two to tango and are taking turns at producing male flowers, then female flowers, then male flowers again. not at the same time though. it's a bad rom-com. my eggplant is making beautiful flowers but can't be bothered to make things that can be eaten. at this point she's about as helpful as my fine art degree. all that aside, I have a pretty big variety of edible things growing but haven't yet had like a proper harvest other than a handful of grape tomatoes, a couple of cucumbers and some pepperocini. do I just need to wait longer? break out some crossword puzzles and meditation to bide my time? is it my growing zone?
